This case study is for a vocational college we started working with in December 2019. The client is a regionally accredited junior college in a large market with many competitors. They offer a variety of programs, and asked for our SEO expertise to help them gain and retain a tactical edge over competitors in organic Google search.
We were referred by another agency, who thought enough of us to suggest us to their client. They handle the PPC, we handle the SEO.
Our SEO engagement can be divided into three distinct sections (so far).
What We Did
Here are the three phases of our SEO work with this client (from Dec 2019 to Jan 2022, at the time of this writing).
- 1. An initial deep dive SEO audit in Dec 2019.
- 2. A short 2-3 month SEO campaign focused on optimizing key pages, improving infrastructure, some light development, and adding/tweaking content in key areas.
- 3. Ongoing content production and ongoing optimization of key pages.
During the entire engagement, up to present day, we are working hand-in-hand with internal departments, key stakeholders, and other external agencies as part of a cohesive team. The goal every week/month is to make sure our client is getting the most possible qualified leads, and converting those leads into students.
Here Are the Results
Figure 1: We essentially tripled the organic Google search traffic from the 24 month period from Dec 2019 to Dec 2021.
Figure 2: After raising organic Google search traffic from 2019 to 2020, we achieved another 64.73% gain from 2020 to 2021, adding almost 70k more organic Google visits.
Figure 3: Another look at the data comparing 2020 to 2021. We are tracking several hundred keywords for this client, and most of them are up for this time frame. We made improvements to key “money” pages where conversions were expected, and also created new, highly relevant content, after making necessary technical changes.
